Tribal youths are one off the important target beneficiaries of this organisation. Team members of the organisation are identifying youth groups in the villages and Organising periodic meetings for them. Eminent speakers from various fields are being called to deliver lecture series on different topics to guide youth from surrounding villages. Creating awareness about healthy life style and importance of education among youth is our motto behind this activity.

Women are neglected in most of the communities in India. Monthly meetings are conducted at village level especially for women’s and adolescent girls. These meetings are attended by the illiterate women from the surrounding villages. Health care workers from various government and non government organisations are helping us to provide health education to women and adolescents from tribal community.

Lack of leadership is one of the important factors that affect tribal community from realizing their social development. AaSHRAY-DURG is committed to develop tribal community by training tribal individuals to lead and represent their community, effectively. So far seven batches have successfully completed leadership development program organised by our organisation in collaboration with various organisation. Participants are trained in the various rural and social development issues and activities which helps them to bring positive changes in the community. Well experienced and trained mentors are training participants in leadership techniques. We have successfully trained about 200 individuals from the tribal communities which are working with different organisations in the surrounding villages for social development.

AaSHRAY-DURG was running shelter home for senior citizen at Nashik (Maharashtra State) from 2008-2010, however, could not sustain the same due to lack of resources. Nonetheless, we continue to support some needy senior citizens and widows by providing monitory support and help to buy regular medicines prescribed by registered medical practitioners in the project area of the organisation at Nandurbar.

To develop and encourage community participation in rural development, organisation arrange frequent meetings for the families and youth of the villages. This helps us for idea exchange among participants. During every get together all participants devote time for cleaning water source, school & hostel premises, plantation in the villages.

Founder members are collecting used books and cloths from friends and are being distributed to the needy individuals in the rural area.

Aashray-Durg is always available to cater needs of the victims of the natural calamities.

There was fire outbreak in one house at “Pimpri Pada” Village, Near Navapur (Maharashtra) on 24th May’ 2013. Entire house was destroyed in fire outbreak. Organisation has supported this family by giving them cloths, food grains and utensils. We have also supported this family for rebuilding their house.
