Educational Projects
Study Classes
The organization conducts regular study classes at 10 different locations across the Navapur block of Nandurbar district, with each center accommodating an average of 20 students from varied educational levels. These sessions, held for two hours daily, provide structured academic support and create an environment that nurtures curiosity and discipline among learners. Through this initiative, the organization is able to identify promising students and encourage them to pursue higher education, while also motivating others to remain engaged in their studies. Dedicated teachers play a vital role in fostering interest in academics, enhancing general knowledge, and instilling confidence in students. As a result, the program has contributed significantly to reducing school dropouts and ensuring that children from rural and tribal communities continue their educational journey with greater enthusiasm and consistency.
Reading Centres
The organization is actively encouraging tribal children and youth to cultivate the habit of reading newspapers daily, thereby keeping themselves informed about current affairs in India and across the world. To make this possible, low-cost reading centers have been established in villages with the support of local youth groups, where newspapers in Marathi are provided regularly to ensure accessibility and relevance. In addition, the widely recognized weekly publication Employment News is supplied to all centers, enabling young people to stay updated on job opportunities and career prospects. This initiative not only promotes awareness and knowledge but also inspires tribal youth to broaden their horizons and prepare for a brighter future. Significantly, some tribal doctors have come forward to sponsor these reading centers, reflecting the spirit of community support and shared responsibility in empowering the next generation.
Training, Guidance & Support for Self Employment
Promoting self-employment and financial sustainability among target beneficiaries is one of the core functions of our organization. To achieve this, we regularly organize skill enhancement training sessions for unemployed youth, equipping them with practical knowledge and abilities that enable them to start their own businesses or trades. These initiatives not only foster independence but also bring financial security to the individuals and their families. So far, the organization has successfully trained around 150 tribal youth, many of whom have begun contributing positively to their communities. In addition to training, we have extended small financial grants to select participants, helping them purchase essential tools and equipment required to earn their livelihood. This holistic approach—combining skill-building with financial support—empowers tribal youth to move toward sustainable economic development and long-term stability.
Computer Education
In today’s world, computer literacy has become an essential skill, yet most children in rural villages lack the opportunity to learn computers during their school years. Recognizing this gap, AaSHRAY-DURG has launched a dedicated initiative to provide free computer education for tribal children in its service villages. These classes not only introduce students to basic computer operations but also help them build confidence in using technology, opening doors to future educational and employment opportunities. The program has been made possible through the generous support of friends and well-wishers who have donated used computers, ensuring that resources are utilized effectively to empower children from marginalized communities with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the digital age.
Support for Education
The organization is deeply committed to educational development and has been actively supporting deserving students in securing admissions to various institutions. To date, more than 70 students have benefited from this initiative, receiving assistance for diverse fields of study. At present, the organization is extending support to several girls pursuing nursing and graduation courses, along with over 20 students continuing their post-matriculation schooling. This support is provided through a combination of essential guidance and financial grants, ensuring that students not only gain access to education but also have the resources to successfully continue their academic journey. By investing in their education, the organization is helping young individuals from tribal and rural communities build brighter futures and contribute meaningfully to society
