Aashray Academy of Community Training (AACT)

Aashray–Durg Bahu-Uddeshiy Samajik Sanstha proudly announces the establishment of the Aashray Academy of Community Training (AACT), which has received official approval from Bharat Sevak Samaj (BSS) – a development agency instituted by the Planning Commission, Government of India – as an Authorised Training Centre. Under this recognition, AACT will conduct a range of courses in the Allied Health Education section of BSS, offering job-oriented training programs designed to empower unemployed youth from underprivileged and marginalized communities. This initiative is a significant step toward building human capital for the nation while addressing the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.

With epidemics and health crises emerging worldwide, the shortage of trained human resources in the healthcare sector has become a pressing challenge. India, however, holds immense potential in its youth population, many of whom can be trained to serve during such critical times. Through AACT, Aashray-Durg provides Skill India certificate training programs, focusing on practical skill development for those who may have discontinued formal education. These programs are designed to create pathways for employability, productivity, and creativity, while raising awareness about health and community development.

Complementing AACT, Project Prerana stands as the flagship women and youth empowerment initiative of Aashray-Durg. Since its launch in April 2022 at Nandurbar (Maharashtra), the project has expanded to Subir and Bardi Pada (Gujarat), Dhani (Madhya Pradesh), Navapur (Maharashtra), and most recently Mumbai. Each center provides structured training courses that nurture skills, enhance employability, and promote self-reliance among women and youth from tribal and marginalized communities. With support from Johnson Controls India Pvt. Ltd, Project Prerana has already begun transforming lives, but further support is essential to sustain operations, expand training modules, and reach more beneficiaries across these geographies.

Together, AACT and Project Prerana reflect Aashray-Durg’s commitment to reducing unemployment, fostering self-reliance, and enabling marginalized communities to contribute meaningfully to the social and economic fabric of the nation. By strengthening these initiatives, stakeholders and partners can play a vital role in shaping a healthier, more equitable, and empowered India.
