“Healthcare at the Doorstep, Hope for Every Village”

At AaSHRAY-DURG our mission is to bring primary healthcare services right to the doorstep of tribal and rural communities. Through medical outreach, we focus on educating families about healthy living using Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) tools, while also increasing the chances of identifying illnesses and diseases at an early stage. By combining awareness with accessible healthcare, we empower communities to take proactive steps toward better health and well-being.

Our initiatives currently reach deep into tribal regions, covering over 160 villages in Navapur Block of Nandurbar District (Maharashtra) and 12 villages in Tapi District (Gujarat), through extended programs. Beyond western India, we also serve North Eastern villages of Kohima District in Nagaland (excluding Dimapur, Chumoukedima, and Niuland). These efforts ensure that underserved populations receive timely healthcare, education, and support, creating lasting impact across diverse geographies. These vehicles visit 3 to 4 villages every day. Each village is visited once in a month and more than 260 villages / Hamlets are benefitted through this project. Every month more than 3000 beneficiaries are availing services from our mobile medical unit.

Neonatal Ambulance

The Neonatal Care Initiative by AaSHRAY-DURG Organisation is designed to reduce neonatal mortality by ensuring timely medical intervention for critically ill newborns. One of the greatest challenges in tribal regions is the lack of access to specialized healthcare facilities. To overcome this, the program provides efficient transport services that connect remote villages to advanced medical centers, giving vulnerable infants a chance at survival and healthier futures. This initiative currently benefits tribal communities across the Navapur Block of Nandurbar District (Maharashtra) and the Uchchal/Nizar Blocks of Tapi District (Gujarat).

The project has been strengthened through the donation of vital assets by Aurionpro Solutions Ltd and the Rotary Club of Mumbai, which have enabled the establishment of transport and medical support infrastructure. However, while these capital assets are in place, there is no support for operational expenses, making sustained funding essential for the program’s continuity. As part of the 2026 project plan, AaSHRAY-DURG seeks support to enhance healthcare outcomes by maintaining neonatal transport services and ensuring that critically ill newborns in underserved communities receive timely, life-saving care.

Maternal and Child Health - Project

Maternal and Child Health Initiative – Talwada & Malwada, PHC, District Palghar

The Maternal and Child Health Initiative is designed to strengthen healthcare services for women, children, and adolescents in tribal and rural communities residing in selected villages of Palghar district in Msharashtra. The program focuses on improving Ante Natal Care (ANC) registration and ensuring full coverage of ANC services, thereby reducing the number of high-risk mothers and preventing complications during pregnancy. By prioritizing early identification and intervention, the initiative aims to lower the incidence of low-birth-weight babies (LBWB) and improve overall maternal health outcomes.

In addition to maternal care, the project addresses the critical issue of child malnutrition by working to enhance the nutritional status of Severe Acute Malnourished (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnourished children. Target beneficiaries include adolescents, eligible couples, mothers in both ante and post-natal periods, low-birth-weight infants, and malnourished children. Through awareness campaigns, nutritional support, and healthcare interventions, the initiative seeks to build healthier families and communities. By integrating preventive care with timely medical support, this program is creating a sustainable model of maternal and child health improvement in underserved regions of Palghar.

Community Health Clinics

Low Cost Self Sustaining Health care Delivery Model with community participation.

Our journey in community healthcare began with the launch of our first clinic on 2nd February 2019 at Village Jamki, established to meet the basic health needs of over 7,000 people residing in and around the village. Clinic is staffed with a trained doctor and dedicated support team. We offer consultations and medicines at highly subsidized rates, ensuring accessible care for all. The project is implemented in collaboration with the Eurasian Cancer Research Council and Eurasian Federation of Oncology, reflecting our commitment to sustainable, community-focused healthcare.

Cancer Early Detection Program

The Cancer Early Detection Program, initiated by the Eurasian Cancer Research Council in association with Aashray-Durg, Muni Seva Ashram’s Kailash Cancer Hospital (Goraj), and Grace Hospital (Navapur), is a collaborative effort supported by the Eurasian Federation of Oncology, T. N. Medical College Mumbai (1992 MBBS Batch), Medicare Surgical & Dental Hospital, and Nandurbar Institute of Medical Sciences. Recognizing that cancer remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, this program focuses on early diagnosis and timely intervention, especially in rural and tribal communities where access to basic healthcare is limited. With nearly 70% of India’s population residing in rural areas, the initiative aims to bridge the gap by bringing specialized healthcare closer to those who need it most.

Through periodical cancer detection camps, wide publicity campaigns, and expert consultations, the program ensures that communities in Navapur Block of Nandurbar District (Maharashtra), as well as Ucchal, Songadh, Nizar blocks of Tapi and Ahawa Dang districts of Gujarat, benefit from accessible screening and diagnosis. Teams of specialists from partner hospitals and institutes gather at selected places for consultations, while patients requiring advanced care are referred to nearby speciality hospitals or institutes for further treatment and management. By combining awareness, early detection, and referral support, the program is creating a vital lifeline for underserved populations, offering hope and saving lives through timely medical intervention.
